We treat all information regarding safeguarding concerns with the utmost confidentiality, sharing only what is necessary with official regulatory bodies to ensure the safety and welfare of the individual.

Safeguarding Adults

We are committed to protecting the right of every adult to live in safety, free from abuse and neglect. Our approach to safeguarding adults is grounded in the six principles of the Care Act 2014: Empowerment, Prevention, Proportionality, Protection, Partnership, and Accountability.

Neglect

  • Ignoring medical or physical care needs
  • Failure to provide access to appropriate health or social care
  • Withholding the necessities of life, such as food and heating

Self-neglect

  • Neglecting one's own personal hygiene, health or surroundings
  • Hoarding
  • Refusing necessary support

Possible Signs That Require Attention

  • Unexplained injuries such as bruises, cuts, or burns.
  • Sudden changes in behaviour, such as becoming withdrawn or unusually aggressive.
  • Poor personal hygiene or unkempt appearance.
  • Unexplained loss of weight or dehydration.
  • Bills not being paid or sudden shortage of money.
  • Afraid of a specific person or avoiding eye contact.
  • Restricting visitors or access to the person.

Safeguarding Children and Young People

Though primarily an adult care provider, Alex C&C Healthcare Ltd often works in environments where children are present. We hold a zero-tolerance approach to child abuse and recognize our duty to report concerns to the relevant authorities immediately.

The welfare of the child is paramount. No child should ever be subjected to abuse, neglect, or harm, and all staff have a direct responsibility to act if they believe a child is at risk.

Staff Conduct: Prohibited Actions

  • Staff must not spend time alone with children behind closed doors.
  • Staff must not give their personal contact details to children or young people.
  • Staff must not take photographs or recordings of children on personal devices.
  • Staff must never use physical punishment or aggressive language towards a child.
