Referrals are received via secure channels and promptly acknowledged within one business day to the referrer.

Referral documentation is reviewed by a clinical manager and prioritised based on the urgency of clinical and social needs.

Risk & Suitability Assessment
A comprehensive risk assessment is performed to determine the suitability of our services based on staffing and clinical needs.

We discuss the referral with the individual, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure a collaborative care approach.

Following assessment, the referral is formally accepted or declined, with professional consideration given to every request.

Confidentiality
We handle all referral information with the highest degree of sensitivity. Our processes are strictly aligned with UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018, and the NHS Data Security and Protection Toolkit (DSPT). In line with the Common Law Duty of Confidentiality, personal information is shared only when a lawful basis exists and where it is strictly necessary to ensure the delivery of safe, effective care.

Referrals That Cannot Be Accepted
Some referrals may not be safely accepted due to lack of suitably trained staff, geographical limitations, inability to safely meet assessed needs or temporary capacity limitations. In such cases, we communicate openly and signpost to alternative support services.
